Congratulations to the Blazer Band for finishing in 4th Place at the "Olde English Festival of Bands" this past weekend in Rock Hill. Ridge View also received "Best Percussion" in Class.The next performance is this weekend at "The Tournament of Bands" sponsored by the Ridge View and Blythewood Band Booster Clubs. The tickets ($7 for adults; $5 for school-aged children; Free for 5 and under) will be available at the gate.
Congratulations to the Ridge View High School Art Department. The RVHS Art Department was fully funded with a Distinguished Arts Program Grant. The department will receive $20,000 in funds from the South Carolina State Department of Education.
Jarvis Davis, senior and Michael Green, junior have been invited to participate in the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) Elite Camp on October 11. The SCBCA ELITE CAMP is an invitation only camp where the top 80 players from SC are invited to participate.
Congratulations to RVHS Principal, Dr. Marty Martin, for being selected for the South Carolina Dance Association's Advocacy Award for 2008-2009. Dr. Martin will be presented with the Advocacy Award on November 15, 2008.

RV Women's Golf team defeated Heathwood Hall and Richland Northeast on Wednesday Oct.1. Scores were RV 206, Heathwood Hall 250 and RNE 221. Ridge View's medalist was Katie Jeffers with a 48.
